What is Mashed photons and why was it made?
Mashed Photons is a film production group put together in response to Apple's Insomnia film competition. Details about the competition can be found at http://www.apple.com/education/insomnia/.
Essentially, contestants meet at Mac Labs @ 9:00 AM one day, and come back @ 9:00 AM the next day with a 3-minute film which has a majority of random requirements. Past requirements have included tuxedos, particular dialogs, and camera angles.
